World War I U.S. Smith & Wesson Army Model 1917 Double Action Revolver "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marking and "eagle head S2" proof on the underside of the barrel, matching assembly numbers on the frame and yoke, a "flaming bomb" ordnance mark and "eagle head S21" proof on the left side of the frame, barrel numbered to the gun, and butt correctly marked "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917" with a lanyard swivel and the serial number. Manufacturer: Smith & Wesson Model: 1917 BBL: 5 1/2 inch round Stock: Gauge: 45 ACP Finish: blue Grips: walnut Serial Number: 109850 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 85% original blue finish with some thinning to a brown (mostly on the grip straps and top strap) and high edge wear. There is some pin prick pitting on the frame. The hammer and trigger retain 70% original case colors. The grips are fine with a couple of missing surface chips near the bottom and some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
