Scarce Civil War U.S. Martially Inspected Remington-Beals Army Model Percussion Revolver Around 1,900 Remington-Beals Army revolvers were manufactured from 1861-1862. The top barrel flat has the two-line 1858 patent date/address marking. Small letter inspection marks are stamped on most of the major components, and a larger sized letter "P" is stamped on the cylinder. The barrel is numbered to the gun. A script letter cartouche is stamped on each grip panel. The serial number "877" on this revolver matches the serial number on the Remington-Beals Navy revolver in the previous lot. Manufacturer: Remington Arms Inc Model: Beals Army BBL: 8 inch octagon Stock: Gauge: 44 percussion Finish: blue Grips: walnut Serial Number: 877 Class: Antique Condition: Fair. The revolver has a mottled gray patina. The grip are good with some minor dings and scratches and a couple tiny chips missing near the bottom. One cartouche is faint and the other is legible. Mechanically fine.
