The takedown option became available in the early 20th century. It has "H4" on the bottom of the stock, blade and notch sights, "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION N.Y. U.S.A." (1890-1922) on top of the barrel, and "22," "P," and the serial number on the bottom of the barrel. Mechanically excellent. B) Remington No. 4 Rolling Block Rifle The Model 4 was the smallest Remington rolling block rifle and was manufactured from 1890 to 1933. Most of the 20th century rifles were takedown. It has blade and notch sights, "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION N.Y." (1890-1922) on top of the barrel, and "22" and the serial number on the bottom of the barrel.
