It has the "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" barrel marking, "eagle head/S20" inspection mark on the frame, letter "H" on the rear cylinder face and U.S. Model 1917 marking on the butt. The yoke is stamped "H/304316/Y" and the matching Colt factory serial number is stamped on the crane. The grips are numbered "364216." Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1917 Double Action BBL: 5 1/2 inch round Stock: Gauge: 45 ACP Finish: blue Grips: walnut Serial Number: 153848 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 95% plus original blue finish showing mild thinning on the back strap and an area of rust on the top right rear frame. The grips are also very fine with a few minor scratches. Mechanically excellent. B) Colt Model 1917 Civilian Double Action Revolver Approximately 1,000 Model 1917s were produced for civilian/commercial sale in 1932. They were calibrated in 45 ACP with 5 1/2 inch barrels only. This example has standard markings and features. Manufacturer: Colt Model: 1917 Double Action BBL: 5 1/2 inch round Stock: Gauge: 45 ACP Finish: blue Grips: walnut Serial Number: 336207 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 90% plus original blue finish showing minor thinning on the back strap and scattered areas of red rust on the top strap and right side of barrel. The grips are fine with a missing chip near the bottom (right panel), a gouge on the bottom (left) and some wear in the checkering. Mechanically excellent.
