This letter features seven unique signatures from members of the University of Minnesota Class of 1908 Engineering Alumni Committee. Reading down the signature cluster under the closing "Sincerely," the signatories are: 1. Jay C. McConkey (Jay Charles McConkey) 2. W. B. McPherson (William Butler McPherson) 3. A. R. Frahm (Alfred R. Frahm) 4. A. P. Goodrich (Alden P. Goodrich) 5. C. M. Olnes (Carl M. Olnes) 6. Geo. P. Svendsen (George P. Svendsen) 7. Stan Bingham (Stanley E. Bingham An original, fascinating typewritten alumni correspondence document dated June 10, 1933, sent from St. Paul, Minnesota, to the renowned American physicist Professor Louis W. McKeehan at Yale University. 9. The letter acts as an intimate invitation and planning coordination note for the upcoming Twenty-fifth Anniversary celebration of the University of Minnesota Engineering Class of 1908. Addressing McKeehan affectionately by his nickname ("Dear Art"), the committee outlines their extensive plans to rally out-of-town engineering graduates for an Alumni luncheon, dinner, and a special "pre-commencement pep-fest" party. The Recipient (Louis W. McKeehan, 1887â1975): Before becoming a globally recognized naval weapons expert, professor of physics, and Director of the Sloane Physics Laboratory at Yale University, McKeehan earned his pioneering undergraduate degree in engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1908.
