This could be another for the Holmes fans. The Pursuit of The House Boat by John Kendrick Bangs - Early Edition 1897 Numerous illustrations in it, by Peter Newell. The sub-title reads; "Being some Further Account of the Divers Doings of the Associated Shades, under the Leadership of Sherlock Holmes, Esq. Written with some humor, it seems there was a hijacking, and it was decided to bring in a detective, none other that Sherlock Holmes, who, at the time this book was published, had already been declared dead by his writer. In fact, Bangs' writes his Dediction to A. Conan Doye, Esq.; "WIth the author's sincerest regards and thanks for the untimely demise of his great detective which made these things possible." The first edtion of this book had embossing on the front cover, ours is plain. Pages are rough-edged, as are most books of this era. Book is in Good Condtion, some minor wear on covers, color fading on spine.
