"A splendid overview of the philosophical question of human immortality, this book stretches from the insights of ancient Egypt to the philosophical currents of the early 20th Century. Tsanoff writes with a fluidity and humor that make the subject matter more easily digestible to readers new to the question. At the same time, he does tend to quote from poets and philosophers in a variety of languages other than English, without translation. This presents some obstacles, but the translations are tucked away in the back of the book. For its comprehensiveness & incisive discussion of every facet of this subject it is a book that students of the subject should not miss. An index & extensive notes make further research easier."
