THE DOORS - SIGNED L.A. WOMAN (ELEKTRA RECORDS, EKS-75011, STEREO)

Provenance and Authenticity:

This item is presented as an original Elektra Records stereo pressing of L.A. Woman, one of The Doors' most important and recognizable album releases. The cover features inscriptions attributed to the members of the group, adding notable collector interest to a record closely associated with the band's final studio period with Jim Morrison.

Signature:

Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, John Densmore

Description:

The album cover displays the bold yellow-and-red design used for L.A. Woman, with a central band portrait framed by large typography identifying both the group and the album title. Released in 1971, L.A. Woman is widely regarded as one of The Doors' defining recordings, featuring a blues-driven sound and several of the band's most enduring songs. The presence of inscriptions attributed to all four members enhances the record's appeal as a highly desirable example of classic rock memorabilia connected to the band's most celebrated era.

Historical significance:

L.A. Woman occupies a central place in the history of American rock music as the final studio album issued during Jim Morrison's lifetime and as a work that captured The Doors at a mature and distinctive creative stage. Its fusion of blues, rock, and poetic lyricism helped solidify the group's lasting reputation, and the album remains an essential artifact of the early 1970s music scene.

Valuation:

The Doors material remains strongly collected, particularly when tied to original period releases and the group's best-known albums. Pieces associated with L.A. Woman hold especially strong interest because of the album's importance within the band's discography and its close association with Jim Morrison's final recording period. Multi-member examples are particularly appealing to collectors seeking historically significant rock memorabilia.
