THE BEATLES - SIGNED THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM (CAPITOL RECORDS, T 2080, HIGH FIDELITY)

Provenance and Authenticity:

This item is presented as an original Capitol Records pressing of The Beatles' Second Album, featuring the well-known collage-style front cover with multiple sepia-toned performance and portrait images of the group. The album cover includes inscriptions attributed to Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, and its overall appearance is consistent with period Beatles memorabilia from the height of the British Invasion era. The typography, Capitol label presentation, and photographic layout contribute to the piece's strong visual identity as an early American Beatles release.

Signature:

Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo Starr

Description:

The cover of The Beatles' Second Album presents a dynamic montage of photographs showing the group in performance and portrait settings, arranged beneath the bold title text "THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM." Additional printed text highlights songs including "She Loves You" and "Roll Over Beethoven," while the Capitol Records mark appears at the right side of the composition. The mix of large headline typography, warm brown photographic tones, and multiple band images creates one of the most recognizable sleeve designs associated with the group's early American releases. The presence of inscriptions across the cover further enhances the visual and collectible appeal of the piece, linking it closely to one of the most celebrated bands in twentieth-century popular music.

Historical significance:

The Beatles transformed global popular culture in the 1960s through their groundbreaking recordings, songwriting, and unmatched influence on youth culture, fashion, and the international music industry. The Beatles' Second Album represents an important chapter in the group's American discography, issued during the period when Beatlemania was reshaping the landscape of popular entertainment in the United States and abroad. Material connected with the group's early releases remains especially significant because it reflects the formative years of a band whose impact on modern music and culture has remained unparalleled.

Valuation:

Memorabilia associated with The Beatles continues to command exceptional interest among collectors worldwide, particularly when connected to early Capitol releases and classic cover imagery from the group's most influential years. Album covers of this type are especially desirable for their immediate visual recognition, strong association with Beatlemania, and enduring cultural importance. Pieces linked to all four members remain highly sought after by collectors of music memorabilia and twentieth-century popular culture.
