North America, Western United States, Late Cretaceous Period, ca. 69 to 66 million years ago. A striking pendant featuring a fossilized Tyrannosaurus rex tooth mounted in a custom silver setting. The fossilized tooth, dark brown with natural enamel sheen, is held within a sculpted silver cap of scrolling design, adorned with seven small round peridots in gilt bezels. A wearable relic of one of Earth's most formidable predators! Size: 2.2" L x 0.75" W (5.6 cm x 1.9 cm); silver quality: 77% to 84%; gold quality: 10% to 12%

The most iconic dinosaurs of all time are undoubtedly the large, meat-eating members of the Tyrannosauridae family. This formidable group includes species such as Nanotyrannus, Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus, Daspletosaurus, Tarbosaurus, and the most infamous of them all - Tyrannosaurus rex. Tyrannosaurids had a relatively brief but dramatic reign, emerging during a span of just 15 million years in the Late Cretaceous Period before their extinction around 65 million years ago. The first recognized fossil remains of Tyrannosaurus were unearthed in Colorado in the 1890s, with one of the earliest partial skeletons discovered in 1902 at the Hell Creek Formation - a site that remains one of the richest sources of Late Cretaceous fossils to this day.
