SN 3294. Cal. 7.63 mm. Standard mid-production Mauser C96 Conehammer pistol with replacement spur hammer. Fitted with 5.5" bbl, having fixed front sight and pinned 1-10 rear sight. Long extractor, showing repair, and independently secured firing pin. Usual chamber marking with the left side of bbl extension marked with the Crown/Crown U proof. Antler acceptance on right side. The only marking on frame is Mauser acceptance and full SN that appears on backstrap under locking lever. The full SN or last few digits are repeated under the rear sight, bolt stop, firing pin retainer, firing pin, bolt, hammer, follower, floorplate, all numbered components of subframe, locking block and each of the matching walnut grips. No Lanyard ring. Major components are rust blued. Rear sight components, bolt stop and safety fire blued. Hammer grayed and polished trigger. Complete with an attache carrying case, bound in light brown suede leather, internally lined with luxurious fabric and secured with two brass keyed clasps. Included is a single key. PROVENANCE: The Friedrich-Wilhelm Dauphin Collection - Germany. CONDITION: Approximately 97-98% of bright, professionally refurbished rust blue with several small marrs on right side of mag well. The repaired extractor appears in-the-white and there is little remaining fire blue on the sight assembly or bolt stop that have transitioned to a mellow brown or refurbished to a darker color. Same concerns apply to the safety and trigger. Hammer appears as a dull gray. Grips darkly stained with scattered handling dings. Dull bore with shallow rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Case appears as new. An interesting and attractive Spur Hammer pistol for those who will never to be able to find or afford the real thing. 49828-53 LMA
