Desirable Smith & Wesson Model 19-1 Combat Magnum Double Action Revolver with Box Manufactured c. 1961, this is an excellent example of the scarce Smith & Wesson Model 19-1 variation of the .357 Combat Magnum. This model was originally created in 1955 in close collaboration with the legendary handgunner and U. S. Border Patrolman, Bill Jordan, the then Chief Patrol Inspector of the United States Border Patrol agency. Designed from the beginning with law enforcement in mind, the Model 19 would go on to become widely popular among a variety of such departments and agencies, as well as among the wider public. This example has the standard markings, including the matching serial number on the butt and frame, as well as matching assembly numbers on the left of the grip frame and the crane. It is fitted with a ramp blade front sight, an adjustable notch rear sight, and a pair of checkered Goncalo Alves target type grips with "S&W" monogram medallions at the tops. Includes a correct factory box numbered to a different gun.
