Silver Mounted and Relief Carved Mediterranean Flintlock Pistol The markings throughout appear to be gibberish. The "LONDON" style marking on the barrel for example has an upside down "L." It has a blade front sight, grooved tang for a rear sight, a false ramrod (a common feature in the former Ottoman Empire), extensive relief carving and engraving, early 19th century style lock with serrated frizzen battery face (common Mediterranean feature), and mostly silver furniture. It appears to be a European flintlock pistol made for the Ottoman trade that was ornamented in the Middle East. Manufacturer: Unknown Model: Flintlock BBL: 9 3/4 inch round Stock: walnut Gauge: 64 Finish: bright Grips: Serial Number: NSN Class: Antique Condition: Good with gray patina and mild pitting on the iron, aged patina on the silver and brass, some subtle cracks and repairs in the stock, and mostly crisp designs. Mechanically fine.
