Stock Configuration: Pistol grip/splinter with perished period Silver’s type rubber recoil pad. Trigger/s: Hunter One-trigger. Auto Ejectors: Yes, Type II. Manual Extractors: N/A. Factory Options: Auto Ejectors and Hunter One-trigger. Letter of Authentication with Gun: Yes; and inspection of the gun itself matches the gun description obtained from the hand-written entry recorded within the original Hunter Arms shipping ledger containing the above referenced serial number. The Letter of Authentication itself is provided by the Historian of the LC Smith Collectors Association, Dr. Jim Stubbendieck, and is information obtained from a certified copy of the original Hunter Arms Company shipping ledgers. Dr. Stubbendieck has not personally examined this gun, and therefore cannot provide any information as to the nature or extent of any after-market modification/s that may, or may not be associated with this gun. Condition/Damage/After-Market Modifications: All original high condition and uncommon Grade 3-E “Live Bird” (no safety) competition gun completed on Oct. 22, 1909 and engraved in the late pre-1913 Grade 3 format featuring two birds without an oval border on either side of the lock plates. Screw slots remain in excellent condition and there are no after-market modifications with the possible exception of the rubber pad, which could be original? The only damage noted is a lightly chipped pistol grip cap. Notes: This gun is from the pre-1913 production period. The Grade 3 Smith gun, and all “Live-Bird” competition guns; always represented a special customer order. This example conforms in all respects to factory stated Grade 3-E gun specifications as regards engraving, wood, and checkering – 1 5/8” x 2 5/8” x 14 1/8” to a single trigger. ** This gun was not tested for function nor were chamber lengths, barrel wall thicknesses, or chokes measured. – This Description was prepared by Tom Archer. - Ship to FFL or C&R Required

Redding Auction Service Inc. will facilitate packaging & shipping where feasible, but your items could be moved to a 3rd party shipper. Shipping can take up to 14 Business Days after we receive your payment. All shipping costs have gone up. We do not attempt to make money on shipping but neither do we wish to lose money on shipping, you must take this into consideration when purchasing an item. Both Redding Auction Service & E-Plus Emmitsburg have minimal packing fees per package, but the shipping cost and Insurance is out of our control and will be billed accordingly.
