He wrote hundreds of responsa to questions that he received from all over the country. He was the av"d in Semyatits, Wolkowysk, Novardok, and Siedlce. He was a disciple of Rabbi Binyomin Diskin of Lomza. He authored the two-sectioned Bris Yaakov  and Beis Mordechai. His son-in-laws were famed Rabbi Eliyahu Kletzkin and Rabbi Yechiel Soloveitchik of מיליציץ. Rabbi Yechezkel Lipshitz [1864-1932]: was a Polish-Lithuanian Torah genius. He was rabbi in a number of cities in Lithuania and Poland and was known for his work HaMedrash V'HaMaaseh. He was already known for his genius when he was a young boy in the Talmud Torah in Kelm. From 1906 through the end of his life, he served as rabbi of Kalish and was chosen to serve as the president of the Agudat HaRabbanim in Poland. He was in touch with Rabbi Kook. In 1930, he published an appeal to the Jews of Kalish asking them to choose the esrogim of Eretz Israel over the Corfu ones. According to his will, his son Rabbi Eliezer Lipshitz was supposed to take over his position as rabbi of Kalish, however, the community preferred Rabbi Menachem Mendel Alter of Pabianice. The appointment was delayed until 1938, because Rabbi Alter refused to move to Kalish until the community fulfilled its obligations towards the family of Rabbi Lipshitz.98 leaves. 37 cm.
