Scarce Winchester Model 53 Lever Action Rifle Manufactured in 1926. Winchester produced only about 25,000 Model 53s from 1924 to 1932. The left rear of the barrel has the Winchester legend, and the right rear has the two-line address. The top of the barrel and receiver are marked with the Winchester oval proof at the breech, and the upper tang has the three-line trade mark information. It features Lyman beaded blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights, half magazine and straight grip stock with serrated steel buttplate. The rifle retains 50% plus original blue finish overall with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. There is some rust on the buttplate.
