Scarce Short Barreled Colt Sheriff's Model 1877 Double Action Thunderer Revolver with 2 1/2 Inch Barrel with Money Belt This is a solid example of a scarce 2 1/2 inch barreled "ejector-less" Colt 1877 DA "storekeepers" Model DA revolver that is complete with a "Royal" marked leather money/cartridge belt. The money belt has a silver plated clasp, is fitted with 32 cartridge loops and is marked on the tongue with "ROYAL / 2/12 38 22". The revolver itself was manufactured circa 1885 and has the scarce "etched barrel" panel markings on the left side. The top of the barrel has the short two-line markings of "COLTS' PT. F.A. MFG. Co./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A." with the noted rare etched barrel panel markings of "COLT D.A.38". The left side of the frame has the standard Colt three line patent dates. The pistol was originally finished with a blue finish and color case hardened frame with a one-piece checkered walnut grip. It is correctly marked with the matching serial number on the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the face of the cylinder stamped with serial number "434". The caliber markings (41 CAL.) are on the rear of the left trigger guard bow.
