Scarce Factory Engraved A.H. Fox Single Barrel Trap Shotgun Manufactured between 1919 and 1936. With dual white bead sights, 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked full, and ejector. The left rear of barrel has the one-line Philadelphia address and the right side is marked "CHROMOX FLUID STEEL". The breech end of the barrels are engraved with fine floral and scroll patterns to match the fully engraved receiver with detailed floral bouquets, fancy scroll, and "FOX" in fine gold inlay one either side of the receiver. Extra fancy checkered French walnut beavertail forearm and high comb pistol grip stock with checkered flats, decorative stone set in the grip end, initial oval inscribed "MAX/WELLER", and solid rubber recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .731 inch; minimum wall thickness .064 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 1 3/4 inches; length of pull 13 3/4 inches. The receiver has a mostly gray patina with sharp, detailed engraving, and handling marks on the tangs. The revarnished wood is also fine with a 1/8 inch hairline crack at the left rear of the forearm, well-defined checkering, small dents throughout, and added recoil pad. Mechanically excellent.
