The "480" code is repeated on the left side of the trigger guard web. "Eagle/359" inspection markings on the left frame, right slide and usual small parts. Dark brown, ribbed grips with the lanyard loop slot wider than earlier pistols. Each of the panels internally SNd to the gun and inspection marked. Magazine marked "P.38/1928" on the bottom left side. This exact pistol is pictured in The P.38 Pistol, Volume I, Buxton, pg 225. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Approximately 70% orig salt blue with wear and oxidative toning in expected places from extensive use, particularly on the right side of the slide and on the front strap. Near excellent orig grips. Comparable condition magazine. Bright bore with moderate erosion in grooves. Perfect manual mechanics.
