Title: Selected Poems
Author: Robert Frost - Robert Frost was an American poet. His work was initially published in England before it was published in America. Known for his realistic depictions of rural life and his command of American colloquial speech, Frost frequently wrote about settings from rural life in New England in the early twentieth century, using them to examine complex social and philosophical themes.

Frost was honored frequently during his lifetime, receiving four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry. He became one of America's rare "public literary figures, almost an artistic institution."
Editor: C. Day Lewis - Cecil Day-Lewis (or Day Lewis), often writing as C. Day-Lewis, was an Anglo-Irish poet and the Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom from 1968 until his death in 1972. He also wrote mystery stories under the pseudonym of Nicholas Blake. He is the father of actor Daniel Day-Lewis and documentary filmmaker and television chef Tamasin Day-Lewis. [Courtesy Wikipedia] , Edwin Muir - Edwin Muir was a Scottish Orcadian poet, novelist and translator. He is remembered for his deeply felt and vivid poetry in plain language with few stylistic preoccupations. Paul Engle - Paul Engle was a noted American poet, editor, teacher, literary critic, novelist, and playwright , W.H. Auden - Wystan Hugh Auden was an English-American poet. Auden's poetry was noted for its stylistic and technical achievement, its engagement with politics, morals, love, and religion, and its variety in tone, form and content.

Book Details: This title is the first UK edition of a volume of selected poems by the iconic New England poet Robert Frost. The book is complete with its original dust jacket. Beneath the dust jacket, the text is bound by blue cloth covered boards. The title and author's name are emblazoned in gilt letters on the spine.

The text itself features introductory essays by the poets and thinkers WH. Auden, C. Day Lewis, Paul Engle, and Edwin Muir.

The front flap of the dust jacket reads: "Mr. Robert Frost is by now recognized as the outstanding poet of his generation in America, and to the few - but still too few - in England his work has long been known as unique in its kind. Here, for the first time at a modest price, is a selection made by the author himself. And it is a striking tribute to the appeal of his poetry that Mr. W.H. Auden, Mr. Cecil Day Lewis, Mr. Paul Engle and Mr. Edwin Muir should have contributed for this volume four specially written essays of critical appreciation, uniting in their admiration of an artist older in years but unageing in his sensibility and performance."
