  • Notes: Rene Marcil was born in Montreal in 1917 and died in Toronto in 1993 but spent most of his artistic life in the U.S., France and England. After work in the advertising departments of the stores Morgan and Eaton's he joined Lord and Taylor in New York where his fashion illustrations appeared often in the New York Times. In the 1950s he moved to France. His work can be found in private and public collections around the world.
