One of the most desirable divers air pumps ever produced is the United State Navy Mark III pump. Just like the US Navy Mark V diving helmet, these air pumps were built to very high standards and used only the best materials. Unlike the diving helmets, these pumps were ordered in far fewer numbers and even less surviving today. While rare to find a USN Mark III pump made by Morse or Schrader, most people do not even know that Miller Dunn in Miami, FL made them for the Navy as well! Offered here is a unique opportunity to own one of these rare jewels! The critical components that prove this pump is indeed a Miller Dunn are present. The main pumping mechanism inside the wood cabinet is in very good original condition. The original brass Miller Dunn ID plate is clearly visible at the top of the pump. There is also the number 19 stamped above the ID plate. Probably the rarest and most desirable aspect is the two matching and original Miller Dunn air pressure gauges. These gauges by themselves are quite desirable. Both gauges are not hooked up to the main pump mechanism, which was via a copper line. The pump, as can be seen in the photos, is missing the wheels and wood cabinet trim. When the pump was found it was apparently receiving a restoration. The previous owner had removed the trim, which has been lost to time. The good news that blue prints and photos of USN Mark III pumps exist, allow for the proper restoration of this piece of diving history. The wood cabinet measures 42-1/4 inches tall, 24 inches deep, 24-3/4 inches wide. The pump mechanism shaft is approximately 38 inches wide. The shaft where the wheel attach is square and measure 1-1/4 inches wide. Each shaft retains the nut that secures the wheels. Pump is located in our facility in Wichita, Kansas. It can be picked-up after the auction or can also be secured to a pallet and shipped via trucking line. Please email for a quote. Just imagine matching up a rare Miller Dunn Mark V diving helmet with this pump!
