Rare Frame Pair Revolutionary War Era of State of Connecticut Receipts Dated 1783 The receipts deal with exchanging state bills from the summer of 1781 during the Revolutionary War. The first is dated August 13th, 1783, in Hartford and is addressed to Private Fisk Beach (1742-1801) for state bills in favor of Ralph Pomeroy (1737-1819), Deputy Quartermaster and Continental Army Paymaster, on June 9, 1781. It has "Fisk Beach" on the bottom right. The second is dated May 26th, 1783, in Hartford and is addressed to Sergeant Nathaniel Cook (1756-1816) for state bills in favor of Colonel Aaron Austin (1745-1829), Paymaster, dated July 17th, 1781. It has "Asa Bray" (1741-1815, captain) on the bottom right. The frame measures 14 3/8 by 20 1/4 inches.
