Rare Early DWM Model 1902 "Fat Barreled" Commercial Blank Chamber Luger Pistol This is a rare example of a DWM Model 1902 Commercial Luger. This type of Luger is actually a very scarce as it does not have the typically American Eagle crest, and it is chambered for the desirable 9mm cartridge and it has the vary rare "fat barrel" configuration. This model of Luger is fairly rare with only 500-600 actually produced with most being sold outside of Europe as it is correctly stamped "GERMANY" on the front of the frame. These early commercial Lugers were probably the best produced by the DWM factory as all of them exhibit excellent fit with a beautiful rust blue finish with straw colored small parts. This model has the correct short style frame and upper receiver, dished toggles, flat extractor spring, recessed breech block, 3 7/8 inch barrel with the distinctive grip safety, and polished lower safety area. The chamber area is blank with the DWM logo on the front toggle. It has the correct commercial style numbering sequence with the full serial number (22672) stamped on the front of the frame and underside of the barrel with the last two digits of the serial number (72) stamped on the various smaller parts. The pistol is fitted with checkered walnut grips and is complete with a nickel plated magazine with the "Cal 9m/m" written in script on wooden base. Manufacturer: DWM Model: 1902 Commercial BBL: 3 7/8 inch round Stock: Gauge: 9 mm Luger Finish: blue Grips: walnut Serial Number: 22672 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Very fine with 99% of the blue overall with only a hint of wear anywhere, with 98% of the straw colors on the various smaller parts, showing some minor fading. The grips are excellent with nice sharp distinct checkering showing some minor handling marks/nicks on both sides. Truly a scarce early production DWM Model 1902 Commercial Blank Chamber Luger pistol.
