Scarce "Kolibri" Semi-Automatic Pistol with Ammunition and a Parisian Merchant's Case Designed by Friedrich Pfannl of Austria, the Kolibri and its cartridge, the 2.7mm Kolibri, are credited as the smallest centerfire pistol and centerfire cartridge to see production, with the pistol easily fitting in the palm and measuring less than 3 inches long. Manufactured with a notched groove sight on top of the slide, with "FP" imprints on both grips and "KOLIBRI" on the right grip panel. The case is finished in an emerald green leatherette material with impressed ribbon and geometric decoration with a green silk and felt inner lining, the former marked in gold "Mon MARQUIS/L. TETARD Sr/4 Bd DES ITALIENS/PARIS". Monsieur Marquis has not been positively identified, but the Boulevard des Italiens was a center of upper class Parisian culture in the late 1800s and early 1900s, which would be a prime target market for such a dainty and novel pistol. Also included with the pistol is a small metal cartridge box and approximately 25 rounds of ammunition. Manufacturer: Kolibri Model: Semi-Automatic Pistol BBL: 1 1/2 inch fluted Stock: Gauge: 2.7 mm Finish: blue Grips: plastic Serial Number: NSN Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Fine, with 70% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina with a few small patches of pitting on the barrel and slide, with some bright edge wear and handling marks overall. The case is good, showing some light wear and tear around the edges and hinge, a few split corners, and some staining of the interior. Mechanically fine.
