Scarce Engraved Pecare & Smith Ten Shot Pepperbox with Ribbed Barrels Pecare & Smith were active in the late 1840s and the early 1850s. Their rare handguns are highly sought after by pepperbox collectors. Their pepperboxes feature distinctive folding triggers, and many had sheathed barrels. This example is a rare 10-shot pepperbox with exposed, ribbed barrels, an engraved nipple shield, engraved action, "11" on both grips, "1" on the left grip, "GW" on the barrel cluster and grip frame, "4" on the lower tang, and the matching serial number "87" on most of the components.
