Factory Engraved Parker Brothers VHE Grade Double Barrel 20 Gauge Shotgun with Factory Style Selective Trigger Manufactured in 1931. Single steel bead sight on the matte solid rib barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers, auto ejectors, and improved modified/full chokes. The rib is marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. VULCAN. STEEL". The casehardened receiver features light zig-zag border engraving and the Parker Brothers name on both sides. Fitted with a single selective trigger, and automatic tang mounted thumb safety. Mounted on a checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with a Parker Brothers hard rubber grip cap, and a checkered Parker Brothers dogs head buttplate. All features match those listed by serial number in "Parker Gun Identification and Serialization" by Price and Fjestad. The barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .616/.613 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .042/.043 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 13 1/2 inches. The receiver has 40% original case colors with the balance mostly silver/gray patina with clear markings, and some patches of mild surface spotting. The wood is also fine with well defined checkering, some mild crazing of the varnish on the slightly shortened buttstock, two small chips on the sides of the forearm, and small pressure dents and dings throughout.
