Factory Engraved Parker Brothers DHE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun Manufactured in 1924. Dual bead sights, 2 3/4 inch chambers, automatic ejectors, "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. TITANIC STEEL" rib marking, and full/full chokes. Standard "D" grade engraving with hunting dogs on the sides, four pheasants on the underside and the balance featuring classic American scroll designs. Dual triggers and tang mounted automatic safety. Water table is curiously marked "GH" above the serial number and a number "3" below. The "3" represents a Grade 3 of DH grade, while a GH would have a corresponding "2" stamping. Both stamps appear to be original factory stamps and the "DH" engraving pattern is factory. Most likely an error at the factory. Barrel also marked "3". Checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with engraved fittings, hard rubber Parker Brothers grip cap, silver initial oval, and engraved skeleton buttplate on a checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .730/.731 inch; minimum wall thickness .035/.043 inch; drop at comb 1 5/8 inches; drop at heel 2 5/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches. Manufacturer: Parker Bros Model: DHE BBL: 32 inch solid rib Stock: walnut Gauge: 12 Finish: blue/casehardened Grips: Serial Number: 206327 Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun Condition: Fine. 95% original blue finish remains with some areas of light thinning, surface scratches, and faint spotting. 45% original case colors remain with a mottled gray/brown patina on the balance, light spotting, and some dings on the trigger guard. The wood is fine with well defined checkering, small bruises and dings throughout, and a large gouge on the left side of the grip. Mechanically excellent.
