Factory Engraved Remington Parker GHE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun with Griffin & Howe Letter and Case The included Griffin & Howe Abercrombie & Fitch records letter confirm the serial number, gauge, barrel length, and specific measurements as well as stating the gun was initially sold on October 29, 1939, by A&F to a Mrs. C.E. Hawke only to be returned to A&F two days later when is was re-entered as inventory, until it was again sold on March 20, 1940 to a Mr. D.J. Garvin. Single bead sight on the concave matte rib barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers, auto ejectors, and modified/full chokes. Standard "G" grade engraving on the receiver with flourishes of light scroll and game birds scenes. Fitted with double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety. Mounted on a nicely figured checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with a silver initial shield inscribed "F.X.P." and a checkered "PARKER" marked dog's head buttplate. The barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .733/.733 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .048/.048 inch; drop at comb 1 5/8 inches; drop at heel 2 3/4 inches; length of pull 14 5/8 inches. Includes a leather bound takedown case marked "F.X.P. on top of the lid with two snap caps, and a two-piece cleaning rod. The buttstock and forend have crisp checkering, small surface scratches, and small pressure dents throughout. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with dings and scuffs on the exterior, staining on the interior and some small tears in the lining.
