Scarce Parker Brothers AH Grade Double Barrel 16 Gauge Shotgun Manufactured in 1927. According to the table on page 325 of "The Parker Story" by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, only 15 AH Grade shotguns were manufactured with 28 inch Acme Steel barrels. Single bead sight on the matte concave rib marked " PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. ACME STEEL." with 2 3/4 inch chambers, single extractor, and (L).015(M)/(R).010(IC) chokes. The size 1 receiver features full coverage, tight, detailed floral and scroll engraving with standard water table markings, dual triggers, and a tang mounted automatic thumb safety. Checkered splinter forearm with engraved fittings, and rounded pistol grip buttstock with fleur de lis carved, checkered flats, gold cap on the grip end, and a checkered bare butt. The barrel and stock measurements are: .668/.668 inch; minimum wall thickness .021/.021 inch; drop at comb 1 5/8 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 14 inches. The receiver is a mostly uniform smooth gray patina with strong traces of original case colors in protected areas, crisp engraving, and small areas of light spotting. The reoiled wood is very good with small dings an pressure marks throughout, a small chip absent the right side of the forearm, freshened checkering, and rounded edges on the butt.
