Stunning Pair of Manrico Torcoli and Creative Art Signed, Panel Scene Master Engraved, and Gold Inlaid Ivo Fabbri 28/20 Gauge Pinless Sidelock Over/Under Two Barrel Set Shotguns with Case -A) Ivo Fabbri Shotgun Stunning Pair of Manrico Torcoli and Creative Art Signed, Panel Scene Master Engraved, and Gold Inlaid Ivo Fabbri 28/20 Gauge Pinless Sidelock Over/Under Two Barrel Set Shotguns with Case -A) Ivo Fabbri Shotgun In the late 1950s young engineer Ivo Fabbri was on the search for his perfect shotgun. When his search proved fruitless, he was told by a dealer that if he wanted a gun with such specific features and standards he would have to make it himself, and that is exactly what he did, along with his friend Daniele Perazzi. The pair set out and built some 300 guns together over the next eight years before going their separate ways. Perazzi went on to pursue his dreams of making the finest sporting guns in the world after the success of Italian shooter Ennio Mattarelli at the 1964 Olympic Games using a Perazzi made gun. And Fabbri set out to build the finest bespoke guns in the world, a dream that many would argue he was able to achieve. This magnificent pair of small bore Fabbris is an excellent example of the work that the firm is capable of and would make a fantastic addition to any collection of fine arms. Fabbri only make some 30 guns a year, with a pair like this being a multiple year wait, take this chance to skip the line and take this stunning pair home without the wait! Each gun in this incredible pair was built with blued steel bifurcated lump barrels featuring a single bead sight on the hand filed flat solid rib, Italian proof marks dating to 2004 on the flats, "IVO FABBRI - BRESCIA -" and "VACUUM ARC REMELTING STEEL" on the left and right of the upper tube respectively, attractive light scroll engraving at the breech and down the barrel wings, Briley choke tubes (skeet/skeet installed in both guns), and chambers marked 2 3/4 inches with ejectors. The barrels of each gun are fitted to a beautifully brushed bright pinless sidelock action which displays masterfully executed near full coverage rose bouquet and small English scroll engraving on all sides surrounding "IVO FABBRI" signatures inlaid in fine gold on either side of the action bar and on the underside before flowing onto to the toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs, the upper of which shows a gold inlaid "1" or "2" and the lower has the serial number inlaid in gold. The underside of each action also displays a lovely scene depicting a Schnauzer sitting in field awaiting commands from his hunter. The scene is cut in outstanding photo-realistic detail by Italian Master Engraver Manrico Torcoli who signed his work "TORCOLI. INC." to the right of the scene. The scrollwork was carried out by the famed Creative Art studio, with their signature "Creative Art" appearing on the trigger plates to the right of the trigger guards. The guns both features a single trigger and a tang mounted automatic safety with a gold inlaid "SAFE" indicator. Both guns are fitted with a highly attractive richly figured and fine multi-point checkered forend with engraved brushed bright iron and release which is marked with a gold "1" or "2" as well as a full pistol grip stock with "ART" in the silver stock oval as well as a checkered butt. Each gun includes an extra set of matching numbered 28 inch 20 gauge barrels with their own forends, 2 3/4 inch chambers, and choke (improved cylinder/modified installed in both). Also includes a maker's leather double gun motor case, a leather case for the extra barrel sets, and 14 extra choke tubes: for gun "1" 28 gauge (improved cylinder, modified, improved modified, and full) and 20 gauge (skeet, skeet, improved modified, and full); gun "2" 28 gauge (improved cylinder, modified, improved modified, and full) and 20 gauge (improved modified and full). Barrel measurements for the 20 gauge set (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed and measured at 15.8 mm (.622 inches); minimum wall thickness .022/.025 inches.
