Oldest Known Bob Feller Autograph - Book from 1930 - Bob Feller Library
Once in a lifetime opportunity to own a historically significant piece of memorabilia. Presented is a book that Bob Feller received as a Christmas present from his Grandparents in 1930. A twelve year old Bob wrote his name in cursive. This signature is basically identical to the signature he applied on his well documented first contract at age 18. The signature in this book predates any signature known by several years. It is the oldest signature on record with JSA's exemplifiers. The book is Hit and Run! by Harold M. Sherman, Very fitting the gift was a baseball book! Writing on inside page includes "Merry Christmas to Robert from Grandpa and Grandma 1930" as well as Bob's signature. Also Feller Library stamp. The pencil signature does have paper loss towards the end of the signature minimally effecting the top of the "r" and touching one of the "l" loops in what appears to have been a sticker removed long, long ago. How many collections include the oldest known signature of any HOF player from any sport, let alone one of the greatest pitchers in history, one of the greatest Cleveland Indians of all time, an ambassador of the game and a proud Navy Veteran? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to add a cherished item from the residence of Bob and Anne Feller. Comes with a LOA from JSA.
