Nine Framed Vanity Fair Chromolithograph Caricatures, Late 19th Century

A collection of nine antique "Vanity Fair" magazine caricature prints, each in a black-painted wood frame, comprising a mix of "Statesmen," "Men of the Day," and celebrity portrait subjects rendered in the magazine's signature satirical style. The group includes: "Statesmen, No. 112 Consequential Damages," dated May 18, 1872, depicting a shaggy-bearded gentleman with a top hat, No. 185; a wild-haired, hook-nosed gentleman titled "Trafalgar Square," dated August 25, 1888, signed "Spy"; a bespectacled figure in a grey coat and top hat titled "Philosophy," dated April 26 (year trimmed), signed with the monogram "CG"; a jovial white-whiskered gentleman with an umbrella titled "Goody," dated January 22, 1876, signed "Spy"; "Statesmen, No. 114 — Tom Brown," dated June 8, 1872, No. 188, depicting a balding figure with red hair in a frock coat; "Men of the Day, No. 29," dated August 19, 1871, No. 146, showing a heavyset white-haired man with a small dog; a red-bearded gentleman in profile titled "New South Wales," dated October 11, 1890, signed "Spy," with a coronet device; a large, jovial figure captioned "A Great Realist (John Singer Sargent, R.A.)," from a Vanity Fair Supplement, printed by Hentschel-Colourtype, London; and "Corney Grain," dated August 22, 1885, depicting a seated pianist mid-performance, signed "Spy." Framed.

One of the framed pieces lacks the glass pane.
