Newton Manchester Retailer Marked 12-Shot Double Action Pinfire Revolver The top of the barrel is marked "NEWTON MANCHESTER" indicating the revolver was retailed by Thomas Newton in Manchester, England, active from 1861 until his death in 1880. The cylinder has small English proofs in the flutes, and a pair of proofs are also stamped on the underside of the barrel. The left side at the breech has a "C S" stamp. The revolver was mostly likely produced by J. Chaineux in Belgium or France. It has a triangular front sight, hammer groove rear sight, checkered walnut grips, and a lanyard loop on the butt.
