Highly Attractive, Deluxe New York Engraved Colt Etched Panel New Line .30 Spur Trigger Revolver with Desirable Wexell & DeGress Grips and Case Manufactured in 1876, this is a highly attractive example of a New York engraving Colt New Line .30 revolver that is fitted with a pair of rare and desirable Wexell & DeGress grips. Wexell & DeGress had retail locations in both New York and Mexico City and have come to be widely known for their ornate cast and silver plated grips like the ones on this revolver. The pair of grips fitted on this example show the typical floral motifs, a blank inscription shield on the left along with the patent date, and a horse's head on the right. The revolver itself shows very attractive New York style engraving that most prominently features floral scrollwork on beaded backgrounds, as well as some zig-zag line and dot work. It has the standard Colt markings including a faint etched panel on the left of the barrel. The full serial number is on the butt and the matching last three digits are on the rear face of the cylinder and bottom of the barrel. It is fitted with standard sights and the previously mentioned grips. Includes a highly attractive American oak presentation case with blank silver escutcheon on the lid and a cartridge block in the interior containing a full compliment of .30 Rimfire cartridges, a cleaning rod, and key.
