A named U.S. Army medal and research grouping belonging to Staff Sergeant Norman D. Reems, who served with the IV Corps during the Vietnam War. This collection features four officially engraved medals in their original presentation cases, a qualification badge, and supporting documentation. The Silver Star Medal reverse is officially engraved in four lines: FOR / GALLANTRY IN ACTION / NORMAN D / REEMS. The medal is accompanied by its original presentation case, a ribbon bar, and a lapel pin. Supporting documents indicate the award was earned for gallantry in action on November 18, 1969. The Bronze Star Medal ribbon is decorated with two bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, signifying three total awards of the medal. The reverse is officially engraved in four lines: HEROIC OR MERITORIOUS / ACHIEVEMENT / NORMAN D / REEMS. The medal includes its original presentation case, ribbon bar, and lapel pin. The Purple Heart reverse is officially engraved in four lines: FOR / MILITARY / MERIT / NORMAN D / REEMS. The medal features the profile of George Washington in gold on a purple enameled heart. The set includes the original case, ribbon bar, and lapel pin. The Army Commendation Medal is a hexagonal bronze award with a reverse officially engraved in four lines: FOR / MILITARY / NORMAN D / REEMS / MERIT. The ribbon features a bronze V device indicating the award was for valor in combat. The set includes the original case, ribbon bar, and lapel pin. The Combat Infantryman Badge is a first award badge made of sterling silver with blue enamel. The reverse is stamped STERLING and shows evidence of missing or broken mounting pins with older solder and adhesive residue. The documentation consists of modern digital printouts from military record databases confirming the awards for Norman D. Reems, including General Order numbers, dates of action, and confirmation of service in the Republic of Vietnam between 1969 and 1971.
