World War II Japanese Zero Series Nagoya Type 2 Bolt Action Paratrooper Rifle A takedown variant of the Type 99 Arisaka designed to be carried disassembled by paratroopers when jumping and then put together on the ground. Blade front and folding rear sights with anti-aircraft wings, with a ground mum on the top of the receiver. The takedown hardware is assembly numbered "367", and the bayonet lug, barrel and bolt are numbered "666" to match the receiver. Smooth pistol grip stock with a cupped buttplate. Manufacturer: Nagoya Model: Type 2 BBL: 26 inch round Stock: hardwood Gauge: 7.7 mm Japanese Finish: blue Grips: Serial Number: 6666 Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun Condition: Fine with 80% of the original blue finish showing mild spotting and handling marks overall. The top of the receiver was polished bright but the Type markings remain legible. The stock is very good with dents and cracks on the right side around the takedown hardware and scattered dings and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
