Born in Philadelphia, Marguerite Pearson had childhood polio that confined her to a wheel chair, but she overcame that condition to have a distinguished career as a painter of exquisite interior scenes, figures and still life. Identified sitter portrait of Rita Raffman. N.B. Rita LaPlante Raffman (1919-2012) was a gifted concert pianist and a prominent citizen of Worcester. The portrait by Marguerite Pearson is said to commemorate Rita Raffman’s performance given during an audience with the Pope.  Image 40 inches x 36 inches. Signed lower left.
