SN 318292. Cal. 9mm. Beautiful limited production factory silver engraved P38, made in 1971, with white/ivory-colored plastic grips in blue leatherette presentation case with spare magazine. Standard configuration P38 with 5" bbl, drift adjustable front sight and thick rear sight. Left side of pistol marked with Walther banner followed by usual 2-line legend that includes the model and Cal. The right side of the slide has the large Interarms/Alexandria, Virginia starburst logo. The left side of the frame is marked with the full SN while, the right side of the frame, symmetrically located is "MADE IN WEST GERMANY". Lavish oak leaf and acorn engraving covers the entire slide around the usual markings. Complimentary engraving is over the chamber and extends to each side of the frame and under the trigger guard. Bordered cross-hatched checkering on top of the slide coverplate, on the front strap, and on the floorplate of the primary and spare magazine. All metal surfaces are silvered. Standard form white/ivory-colored grips. Pistol and spare mag in blue leatherette presentation case whose lid has been marked with a rectangular Walther banner logo. Lid and base lined in dark red velvet. Single spring loaded non-keyed latch. A great post-war factory engraved P38 in its presentation case! PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Near factory new with tarnish but no discernible wear on the either the pistol and only a few minor scuffs on the grip. Same exemplary condition applies to the spare magazine.
