Magna Graecia, ca. 4th–3rd century BCE. Two different pottery examples including the smaller example, decorated on the exterior with a black painted dot and dash band and solid concentric bands. Standing on a low pedestal disc foot, opposing loop handles. Overall scattered calcified surface deposits. Together with the larger example, having a reddish brown interior, handles and a lower wide exterior band. 1.75" H × 5.25" W & 2.5" H 6.5" W (4.45 cm H × 13.34 cm W & 6.35 cm H 16.51 cm W).

Provenance: Collection of Tom Carson, NYS., active 1970’s - early 2000’s, then by descent to family.

  • Condition: The smaller example has a chip reattached in the foot, with break lines left visible, and a very minor rim flake. The larger example is missing approximately one-third of the disc pedestal foot but is otherwise intact.
