Sapnoff, Lubomir (American, 1887-1971), Looking Towards the Battery - Lower Manhattan with Manhattan Bridge and The Woolworth Building, 1957, oil on board, signed at the bottom of the verso, the verso also with an extensive inscription to Alice from Chris (possibly Lubomir's nickname), 8 x 10 inches, in a thin wood frame 9 x 11 inches. A really lovely painting with interesting history. Provenance: the personal collection of Gary S. Grimes, Pittsburgh. Gary was an expert on Western Pennsylvania art, and especially the Scalp Level painters.

  • Condition: In good condition, with a layer of surface dirt, spots of early crazing and a few small scratches.
