Condition:
Offered in non-running vintage condition. Having rested unused in an estate drawer for decades, the movement is currently wound tight and not running; it will require a professional service or overhaul to restore functionality. Visually, the 10K rolled gold plated bezel displays typical surface scratches and light pocket wear consistent with age, but retains a brilliant luster with no significant brassing. The highly faceted acrylic crystal shows moderate scratches and scuffs. The tan leather replacement strap is in near-mint, unworn condition.

Item Description
Weight: 25 grams

Step back in time to the golden age of American horology with this spectacular 1952 vintage Bulova timepiece. This watch is a magnificent testament to mid-century glamour, seamlessly bridging the gap between the bold, geometric lines of the classic 1930s-1940s Art Deco era and the sleek, streamlined futurism of the 1950s. Founded by Joseph Bulova in 1875, the Bulova Watch Company revolutionized the industry with standardized parts and unparalleled Swiss-American craftsmanship. At the beating heart of this watch is the legendary Bulova Caliber 10BT, a highly regarded Swiss manual-wind movement featuring 17 jewels. Date-coded 'L2' for 1952, this caliber represents the pinnacle of mechanical reliability of its day.

The pure elegance of this style is defined by its stunning tonneau-shaped 10K rolled gold plate bezel, beautifully accented by a dramatic, highly faceted "top-hat" style crystal that plays with light like a finely cut gemstone. The silvered dial is a masterclass in vintage design, boasting stylized gilt Arabic numerals, a tracking outer minute register, and a recessed sub-seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. Paired with a supple, newer tan leather strap, this watch offers an incredible canvas for restoration or a prized addition to any serious horological collection.
