VIRGINIA COLONIAL ESTATE INVENTORY INCLUDING 79 ENSLAVED PERSONS, manuscript on laid paper with watermark, of Col. Robert Bolling II (1682-1749), Charles City Co. and Prince George Co., a detailed inventory listing the names of 79 enslaved people, one with a child, a large quantity of furniture, including a corner table, a silver-hilted sword, a quantity of silver, large quantities of alcohol, livestock, domestic articles, tools, etc. Dated Feb. 13th, 1749, and signed by his executors William Stark, Hugh Miller, Alex Bolling, and William Watson. 12 3/4" x 8" sheet. 
Catalogue Note: Robert Bolling II was the son of Robert Bolling and Ann Stith. He was born at Kippax Plantation, Charles City Co., Virginia, near present-day Hopewell. He served in the Virginia militia, rising to the rank of colonel. He was appointed surveyor and justice of Prince George Co. He married Anne Cocke at Kippax Plantation in 1706 and soon began buying land in the Petersburg area. His first plantation was Bollingbrook along the Nottoway River. He was the grandfather of Beverley Randolph, the eighth governor of Virginia.

    Good overall condition, very legible, separated at the fold creases, and with small tape stains.
