GOOD PERSIAN ENAMEL GROUP.
Comprising nine individual pieces, including a very fine silver-gilt and cloisonne enamel lidded box, the interior brightly gilded and with Arabic maker's marks, width 6.3 inches (16cm). A silver engraved cigarette box, the hinged lid with hand-painted mother-of-pearl applied plaque, length 3.5 inches (9cm). A very fine painted enamel cigarette case decorated with a watercarrier and scholar, the verso ornately decorated and centered with a view of a mosque (probably in Isfahan), length 4 inches (10.2cm). A silver rectangular box, the hinged lid with painted cityscape of Isfahan, Iran, length 6.75 inches (17.1cm). Together with a painted enamel baluster-form footed vase, height 6.75 inches (17.1cm), a circular box with painted enamel view of Isfahan, an Indian silver and enamel elephant with passengers, a circular covered enamel bowl with fitted lid, and a framed enameled plate as shown, frame measuring 10.4 x 10.4 inches (26.5 x 26.5cm). A good group.

  • Condition: Photo One: the cloisonne enameled rectangular box pictured at top, with no restoration or repairs, normal handling wear consistent with age and perhaps a few very minor areas of enamel loss. The case with the hand painted mother of pearl cover with wear to paint as shown. The enameled case to its immediate right in good condition with no restoration or repairs, some wear to the corners on the backside of case. The rectangular case pictured at the bottom, with some minor scratches to the lower left corner of painted lid, otherwise, no damage or restoration. Photo Two: Depicts five individual pieces. These pieces exhibit no readily apparent damage, restoration or repairs only light handling wear consistent with age.
