This pair of round-bowl bouillon spoons is crafted from solid sterling silver in the Louis XV pattern, produced by the Whiting Manufacturing Company. Introduced in 1891, the pattern is a quintessential example of the late 19th-century Rococo Revival style, characterized by handles decorated with elaborate scrolls, foliate motifs, and shell-like accents. The spoons feature gold-washed (vermeil) bowls and bear an engraved script monogram on the front of each handle terminal. The reverse of the stems is stamped with the manufacturer hallmarks for the Whiting Manufacturing Company, followed by STERLING and the patent date PAT. 1891.
