World War II U.S. Remington Model 1903A4 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Weaver M73B1 Scope and Rock Island Arsenal Shipping Invoice Manufactured in 1943. Adopted in 1943 and manufactured exclusively by Remington Arms, the U.S. M1903A4 was the standard sniper rifle of the U.S. Army during World War II, and saw continued service through Korea and even into the early days of Vietnam. The rifle has an accompanying DD form 1149-2 Rock Island Arsenal shipping invoice with no visible date listing this rifle by serial number as sold to the current consignor. Features correctly absent iron sights, "RA/flaming bomb/4-43" marked barrel, "R" marked blued bolt assembly with correctly turned-down handle, the receiver markings correctly offset to the sides, along with "R" marked on some small parts including the front barrel band. Topped off with a blued Weaver M73B1 2.75x scope electro-pencil serial numbered "34043" on a parkerized Redfield base. It has a smooth walnut handguard and a "C" profile semi-pistol grip walnut stock with "RA", crossed cannons acceptance and boxed "FJA" (Frank J. Atwood) inspection stamps on the left of the wrist, two circled "P" proofs on the grip, and a boxed "RIA/EB" (Rock Island Arsenal/Elmer Bjurke) inspection cartouche on the left of the buttstock. Includes a Boyt "44" dated M1907 leather sling, synthetic scope lens caps, and a TM 9-1270 manual.

  • Condition: Very fine overall as arsenal refurbished, retains 98% parkerized finish, with well-defined edges in the stock and legible cartouches. Mechanically excellent. The scope is excellent, with very slightly hazy but clear optics and a crisp reticle.
