FRENCH SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) MINIATURE PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN, watercolor, a fine bust-length depiction of an older gentleman with white hair and a navy blue coat. Dated "1802" and signed somewhat indistinctly what might be "Isabey". Housed in the likely original gilt bronze case, and retains some form of associated backing, possibly from an earlier outer case. Possibly Jean-Baptiste Isabey (French, 1769-1821). Dated 1802. 2 1/2" D sight, 3" DOA.

    Property from the estate of Malcolm Bradley, Richmond, VA.

  • Condition:

    Excellent condition with some expected minor wear around the edges of the painting where it comes in contact with the frame.
