An English figured mahogany burl tea caddy with cast brass hardware, marquetry inlay star at top, includes three wooden canister and key, 5 1/4 in. H, 9 1/2 in. L, 5 in. D; and a late 18th/early 19th century English Georgian style mahogany tea caddy with brass hardware and bow and garland escutcheon, includes three canisters, 4 1/4 in. H, 8 1/2 in. L, 4 3/4 in. D

  • Provenance: From the Estate of Robert A. Erlandson, longtime Baltimore Sun journalist and former London bureau chief (1980–1984). This collection of tea caddies was assembled over decades, with many examples acquired while he lived in England, and pieces from the collection have been featured in publications on tea caddies and antique boxes
  • Condition: Both with age appropriate wear; figured mahogany tea caddy with overall wear, minor losses and age cracks, one hinge with additional screw hole and one missing screw; smaller with dent to right side, gap between body and lid when closed, age cracks
