Spectacular Cased Robert E. Strosin Signed, Master Relief Engraved, and Gold Inlaid Smith & Wesson Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman Double Action Revolver with Accessories Manufactured c. 1969-1972, and subsequently elaborately embellished by Master Engraver Robert E. Strosin, a former president of the Firearms Engravers Guild of America (FEGA) and active in the craft since 1978. Features intricate and extensive floral scroll pattern engraving with deep relief cut matted backgrounds spanning across nearly all of the barrel, cylinder, and frame, along with vine pattern flush gold inlay bordering accented with some floral patterns and raised inlaid pedals also spanning across the barrel, cylinder, and frame, with the work signed "R. STROSIN/ENGRAVER: on the lower front portion of the frame. It has fixed ramped blade front and adjustable notch rear sights on a flat rib, the caliber designation and model name on the right side of the barrel, and the model designation marked on the frame under the crane. Matching visible serial numbers on the frame, ejector, and butt, along with matching "54374" assembly numbers on the grip frame and crane. Fitted with a pair of enlarged checkered walnut grips with Smith & Wesson medallion inserts. Housed in an intricately crafted hardwood presentation case, with differing colored floral motif maple inlays on the sides, fitted for the revolver and containing two walnut handled cleaning rods, a walnut handled screwdriver, six nickel dummy cartridges, and a key for the case.

Strosin, retaining 99% blue, French grey, and gold finishes with limited minor handling evidence, clear retained markings, along with crisp relief engraving and inlays. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is exceptionally fine with limited minor storage wear. The accessories are excellent.
