This lot comprises two late 19th-century ceramic vessels. The first is a Chinese porcelain teapot of cylindrical form with a curved spout and a flat lid. It is fitted with two lug handles that secure a cord-wrapped metal bale handle. The exterior is decorated with hand-painted overglaze Famille Rose enamels, featuring a scene of two women and a child in a garden setting, while the reverse side displays columns of black calligraphic script. The shoulder and rim are accented with gold gilt and further characters. The base is marked with a blue stamp reading CHINA and a red four-character square seal mark for the Tongzhi period. The second item is a large earthenware coffee or chocolate pot produced by Ridgway, Sparks and Ridgway of Staffordshire, England. The vessel features a pear-shaped body with a flared neck and a domed lid topped with a ring finial. The exterior is decorated in the Indus pattern with black transfer-printed Aesthetic Movement motifs, including cranes, butterflies, and marsh flora. The handle is angular and detailed with vertical stripes. The base includes a printed ribbon mark for the pattern INDUS, the manufacturer's initials R.S.R, and a Victorian registration diamond indicating a date of August 15, 1881.
